Liquid Waste Management

Offering a full line of Liquid Waste Management Systems.

As city and state environmental officials begin enforcing strict water and pollution standards, many companies are now facing the problem of finding a cost effective way to clean or dispose of waste water.  B & M Industries represents Industrial Systems designed to remove petroleum oils, emulsified oils, suspended solids, phosphates and metals from water.

By processing the contaminated liquid through a B & M Industries system, the users resultant sludge is suitable for disposal in a non-hazardous industrial landfill.  The remaining treated water is sufficiently free of oil, metals and suspended solids, and in most cases can be discharged into a municipal sewer or recycled.

The reaction vessel is filled with wastewater.  After filling, the mixer is started and the RM-10  reactive separating agent is added to the mixing wastewater. During this time, a large floc can be  observed forming in the water. The mixing continues for roughly 3 to 5 minutes. The mixer is then stopped, and the floc is allowed to settle.

After the floc has settled, the clean water valve is opened. This allows the clean water to pass through the filter media first, before the bulk of the sludge. The clean water passes through the filter media and into the clean water tank. This tank can be discharged directly to the sewer or recycled, or it can be closed for water sampling purposes

After the clean water has emptied, the sludge discharge valve is opened. The sludge falls onto the filter media where it dewaters by gravity to approximately 25% solids. On larger units, a float determines when the sludge builds up too high on the filter media and automatically advances the filter media to ensure even dewatering. The sludge laden filter media then passes under a roller which squeezes out any excess water. The sludge and filter media then fall into a disposal container.

B & M Industries has the experience in dealing with a variety of waste stream problems.  Whether its a simple coalescer for dealing with the removal of petroleum oils; or a fully automated system treating emulsified oils, solids, and heavy metals,  B & M Industries has the technical knowledge and resources to solve the problems.
